Company History

J. Robert Pfanner & Associates P.C. was established in 1978 by J. Robert Pfanner. He is a graduate of NYU and is Licensed in the state of Connecticut for both Land Surveying and Professional Engineering. After years of work for large construction company in the early 70’s building many of the roads we all drive on today Mr. Pfanner decided to start his own business in Civil Engineering and Land Surveying. The business started out of his house (actually his dinning room) which soon became to small and forced the office to a new space over the garage. This space too became to small and J. Robert Pfanner & Associates moved to is current location at 37 Grand Street in Niantic CT. In 1994 Robert D. Pfanner joined his father after graduating from Roger Williams University With a degree in Civil Engineering to make J. Robert Pfanner & Associates A family owned and run business.

The company is a small to med size firm specializing in local residential and commercial projects within southeastern Connecticut. We specialize in taking projects from conception and planning through local and state approvals and through construction. Land surveying is usually the starting point for most projects and we do all our surveying work in house with Topcon total stations and TDS data collection to assure accurate results. We also offer construction stakeout with the same accuracy as our original surveys provides. We have a full array of cad, gis, photo and other engineering software to ensure that we can integrate our work and the work of other firms into a seamless set of construction documents. J. Robert Pfanner & Associates limits its work to southeastern Connecticut where we have developed a rapport with local and state agencies which we feel is an important relationship to keep projects on track.
